Men's Mauritius MMBroum STORM BLUE
€219,90
The slate shade of this Broum cannot be reduced to a single color: distinctly blue outdoors and grayer indoors, it shifts depending on the lighting and viewing angle. This is the model's key feature, and it is enough to set it apart in a wardrobe dominated by blacks and browns. The blue-gray behaves like a neutral while remaining a color, which is rare for a leather jacket. It works well with ecru, off-white, light gray and denim, but does not pair well with black, which dulls it.
The shoulders and elbows feature perforated leather panels, inherited from racing jackets where ventilation was concentrated in these areas. On a medium shade like slate, the perforations create a dark dotted pattern that emphasizes the shape of the panels without making it too flashy—the effect is more restrained than on light-colored leather, where the contrast is at its strongest. The rest of the construction remains classic: a stand-up collar secured with a snap, a centered straight zip and chest zips.
The direct trade-off of the perforated panels is that air passes through at the shoulders, making the jacket more suitable for spring and fall than for the middle of winter. The regular fit ends at the waist and accommodates a shirt or lightweight sweatshirt. The stand-up collar can be raised and secured with its snap when the wind picks up, extending its use by a few weeks on either side of the season. The soft, lightweight lambskin drapes properly from the very first wear.
Since its foundation in 1972 by Jürgen Raberg, the company that became Mauritius has worked with just one main material, leather, and one category, clothing. Its name change, from the historic Gipsy to today's Mauritius, marked its fifty years of existence. Katrin and Christian Raberg now run the family business. This focus on a single trade explains the breadth of its collections, which cover jackets, coats and overcoats within the same season.
This product is made of lambskin. It is the most supple skin among the different types of leather. It is fine, soft and light, and is very easy to maintain!
The only maintenance necessary is waterproofing the material, this should be planned before the first wear of your product and regularly following the frequency with which you wear the product (if you wear it every day in rainy weather, you can repeat it up to once every one to two weeks).
You can also use a delicate neutral cream or color to nourish and revive your leather.
