A flight jacket with a changing collar
The TGJ 2433 NAVY stands out with a detail rarely so adaptable on a bomber: two removable faux-fur collars, one brown and the other cream. You can remove them to visually streamline the silhouette or choose one to enhance its flight jacket look. The navy blue nylon provides a more understated backdrop for the embroidered patches than the usual khaki, without diminishing their presence.
Its silhouette is inspired by B-15 and CW-45 flight jackets: a bomber shape, a central fastening and a snug hem that create a short, clean volume. The rib-knit cuffs and waistband keep this line close to the body, while the fur collar becomes its focal point.
Details designed for an aviation-inspired wardrobe
Nylon makes up the outer layer and the jacket is fully lined. The flap pockets can be accessed from above or through a side opening: their construction preserves a structured front while offering several access points. The patches and embroidery, distributed across the jacket, establish the graphic vocabulary of squadron clothing rather than a discreet decorative touch.
The reference to the “Top Hook” refers to a distinction awarded to the pilot who achieved the best carrier-landing results within their air group during a deployment period. Here, it fuels the garment’s imagery; the model remains a ready-to-wear piece inspired by aviation.
Navy blue, between a statement piece and easy combinations
The patches give the jacket a strong presence: it is best to let them play their role by pairing them with solid-colour garments. Navy blue goes easily with raw denim, beige trousers or grey chinos. Without the faux-fur collar, the jacket looks lighter and sportier; with one of the collars, it regains a more distinctive flight jacket look.
The Top Gun heritage
The US Navy’s aerial combat school, nicknamed TOPGUN by its pilots, was established in 1969. The film of the same name, released in 1986, subsequently popularised this world among the general public. The Top Gun brand was launched in 1996 around aviation-inspired clothing; this bomber extends this imagery through its patches, removable collar and flight-jacket cut.
