Patches that can only be read up close

On this version of the MMAirpilot, the embroidered patches match the shade of the leather instead of standing out against it. They no longer appear through color, but through the thread's texture and the difference in sheen between the embroidery and the leather. The change is considerable in use: the jacket retains its full aviation heritage, without the display that confines a colorful-patch model to a costume-like register. This is the wearable version of a usually demonstrative piece, designed for a pared-back outfit.

Khaki that brings the design back to its origins

Khaki green is the original shade of this family of jackets, which was born in military aviation. Dense and matte, it absorbs light instead of reflecting it, highlighting the texture of the ribbed trims and pocket flaps rather than the leather surface itself. The color works well with ecru, browns, raw denim and grey; it does not pair as well with deep black, which overwhelms it. Behind the Mauritius name is a company founded in 1972 by Jürgen Raberg, specializing in leather clothing from the very beginning. Known as Gipsy for most of its history, it changed its signature for its fiftieth anniversary. It is now run by Katrin and Christian Raberg and distributes its collections in more than fifty countries. Its catalogue covers the entire leather wardrobe, from the short biker jacket to the long coat.
