The J-27R takes up the characteristic lines of the historic Buco J-27 - a model whose origins go back to the jackets developed for American police motorcycle units. A lineage that reads through the construction: asymmetric fastening, large chest pocket with flap, removable belted waist with buckle, shoulder panels - all functional details that define this jacket as much as its leather. That leather is a Cow Milled - a cowhide with a pronounced natural grain, selected for its character and robustness. At 0.8 to 1 mm thick, it is denser and more textured than smooth leathers - a material that asserts itself at first glance and develops a natural patina over time.

On the J-27R, every element has a purpose and an origin. The large chest pocket with flap - secured by Antique Silver press studs - is one of the most recognisable codes of the historic model. The zip chest pocket completes the construction on the right side. The removable belt, attached by press-stud loops, comes off entirely - buckle and eyelets in Antique Silver finish, consistent with all the metal elements on the jacket. Shoulder panels and action pleats ensure freedom of movement. The wrist zips, in Antique Silver finish, close everything off with the same coherence. Inside, the body lining in black quilted poplin, 100 % cotton - visible when open with its characteristic diamond pattern - provides superior thermal insulation to a simple lining, without adding weight to the jacket. Joseph Buegeleisen founded the Buegeleisen Company in Detroit in 1933 - Buco is the contraction of the name. Originally a motorcycle accessories manufacturer, the brand began producing leather jackets in the 1940s, made entirely in-house. Its models quickly equipped generations of riders, flat-track and drag strip racers - but also law enforcement, for whom Buco developed specific models, of which the J-27 is one of the most emblematic.

Its maintenance simply involves using a cleansing milk or a delicate cream.
You will also need, as with the vast majority of leathers, to waterproof your leather once every 6 months, or more depending on its use, using a special leather aerosol product.
