Women's Mauritius MWMabou BLACK
€219,90
The Mabou adorns its shoulders and upper sleeves with floral motifs, in the same black as the leather. The tone-on-tone choice completely changes the nature of the embellishment: the pattern only appears through the texture of the thread and the difference in sheen from the leather. From a distance, the jacket looks like a plain model; up close, the craftsmanship becomes visible. It is the opposite of a statement embroidery, which is what makes the piece suitable for wearing as often as a jacket without any decoration.
A stand-up collar fastened with a snap, a straight central zip, two zipped pockets and a waist-length cut: the construction seeks nothing more than getting the essentials right. This neutrality is necessary—a more distinctive cut would compete with the embroidery and make the overall look confusing. The garment therefore works on two distinct levels, the silhouette first and the detail second, without either interfering with the other.
Because the pattern is tone on tone, the jacket can be styled like a plain model: jeans, fluid trousers, a dress or a skirt. It does not demand an outfit built around it, which is rare for an embroidered piece. The detail reveals itself to those who look, and that is essentially all that is asked of it. The soft, lightweight lambskin keeps the embroidered areas supple as you move, and the jacket falls correctly from the very first outing, without the breaking-in period required by thicker hides.
The company was founded in 1972 under the name Raberg Ledermoden by Jürgen Raberg, with a focus on leather clothing. After decades under the name Gipsy, it adopted the name Mauritius for its fiftieth anniversary, bringing its collections together under a single signature. It is managed by Katrin and Christian Raberg and is present in more than fifty countries. Its designs remain deliberately understated, built around the cut rather than visible detailing.
This product is made of lambskin. It is the most supple skin among the different types of leather. It is fine, soft and light, and is very easy to maintain!
The only maintenance necessary is waterproofing the material, this should be planned before the first wear of your product and regularly following the frequency with which you wear the product (if you wear it every day in rainy weather, you can repeat it up to once every one to two weeks).
You can also use a delicate neutral cream or color to nourish and revive your leather.

In all cases, remember to always test the application of a maintenance product on a non-visible surface of your product. Certain finishes or leather treatments may react differently from one product to another.
