Women's Mauritius MSWManaus ALMOND
2 794,00 kr
The Manaus takes the opposite approach to conventional quilted pieces, which cover the entire garment or stop at the shoulders: here, the quilting occupies only the lower section, forming a regular zigzag instead of the expected horizontal lines. The choice is not merely graphic — the quilting gives structure to the bottom of the jacket, allowing it to fall neatly instead of floating, and creates a visual anchor that balances the open neckline. The stitching is closely spaced, avoiding the puffer effect that wider quilting squares would create.
Round neckline without a collar, centered straight zip, straight-finished cuffs without ribbing or tabs: nothing competes with the pattern at the bottom. This simplicity is a requirement, not a cost-saving measure. A stand-up collar, zipped cuffs or flap pockets would create three additional focal points and make the zigzag difficult to read. The garment is therefore read from top to bottom, from the plain surface to the relief. The straight cuffs follow this logic: they finish the sleeves without adding anything to them.
The shade softens a design that would be more abrupt in black: on beige, the shadows created by the quilting remain subtle and the pattern is as much sensed as seen. It is an easy daytime color to pair with white, ecru, brown and light denim, and it brightens up a dark winter outfit. The soft, lightweight lambskin allows the quilted bottom to fall without stiffness, which is essential for a piece whose structure is concentrated in this area. The jacket falls properly from the very first time it is worn.
Adopted for the company's fiftieth anniversary, the name Mauritius replaced Gipsy, the name under which the company founded in 1972 by Jürgen Raberg became known. The craft itself has not changed: leather garments, from short jackets to coats. The company has entered its second generation, in the hands of Katrin and Christian Raberg. Its collections are now distributed in more than fifty countries.
This product is made of lambskin. It is the most supple skin among the different types of leather. It is fine, soft and light, and is very easy to maintain!
The only maintenance necessary is waterproofing the material, this should be planned before the first wear of your product and regularly following the frequency with which you wear the product (if you wear it every day in rainy weather, you can repeat it up to once every one to two weeks).
You can also use a delicate neutral cream or color to nourish and revive your leather.

In all cases, remember to always test the application of a maintenance product on a non-visible surface of your product. Certain finishes or leather treatments may react differently from one product to another.
