The Field Jacket Natural is the evolution of Master Supply Co's original Field Jacket - the same chore jacket silhouette, that patch-pocketed workwear garment inherited from the American working wardrobe, now fully lined. The leather is a full-grain cowhide of 1.3 mm left undyed, with the finish reduced to a minimum. It is a radical choice: nothing masks the surface, no pigment, no thick protective coat. The grain remains visible, as do surface marks, and the leather's natural tone - a pale beige with a faint pink cast - will transform profoundly over time. A jacket that will resemble no other after a few months of wear, because it records everything: light, the oils of the skin, moisture, the gestures of everyday life.
A living leather, with everything that implies.
This type of leather is porous and reactive - precisely what makes its patina so expressive, but it calls for an understanding of how it behaves. Variations in tone and texture from one piece to another are normal and expected: they are not a fault but the nature of the material, whose surface has not been evened out. On a single jacket, the leather darkens progressively under the effect of light and contact, faster on exposed areas and friction points. Trying to accelerate this process is not advised - deliberate, prolonged UV exposure or the application of oil-rich conditioners can cause uneven darkening, excessive softening, blotching or odour development. The patina builds on its own, at its own pace. One last thing worth knowing: in the event of significant moisture, oxidation from the metal hardware can migrate onto the leather, particularly around rivets and snaps with an antique finish. If the jacket gets wet, it should dry flat in a cool, ventilated space, away from any direct heat source and without being hung while still damp.
A chore jacket construction, functional and direct.
The Field Jacket follows the logic of workwear: storage, accessible, without complication. Three patch pockets on the outside - two lower and one at the chest, all open-faced and reinforced with rivets at the stress points. Two additional pockets inside. Fastening is handled by solid zinc two-prong buttons in a donut design, developed specifically for the brand - a simple mechanical closure, no zip, consistent with the spirit of the model. The interior is fully lined in sage green cotton twill, a breathable material that adds comfort against the skin and an understated contrast with the pale leather. The cut stays true to the natural body, with the ease expected of a chore jacket.

Frequently asked questions
Master Supply Co pieces run fairly true to size and follow the natural body. The method the brand recommends is to take your chest and bottom measurements, then add 10 to 14 cm - the result corresponds to the garment measurement to choose. This slightly roomier allowance compared to the brand's fitted jackets matches the chore jacket spirit, designed to be worn over other layers.
Because the leather is undyed and its finish is deliberately reduced to a minimum. The colour you see is that of the hide itself, with its natural variations from one piece to another - and sometimes within a single jacket. These differences in shade and texture are not manufacturing faults: they are the direct consequence of the choice not to even out the surface.
It depends entirely on use. The leather reacts to light, to skin contact, to moisture and to repeated movement. The most exposed areas - shoulders, forearms, pocket edges - will darken faster than the rest. With regular wear, the first changes are visible within a few weeks, and the transformation continues over several years. Every jacket evolves according to the way it is worn.
It is not advised. Deliberately exposing the jacket to UV for prolonged periods or applying oil-rich conditioners to force darkening can produce the opposite effect: uneven darkening, blotching, leather that becomes too soft, even odour development. This leather is reactive - it works very well on its own, provided it is left to do so.
Care should stay light. A dry cloth is enough for dust and surface marks. Avoid heavy oil-based conditioners, which penetrate too deeply into so porous a surface. If you want to use a treatment, choose a light product specifically suited to naturally finished leathers, and always test it on a discreet area before any general application.
Let it dry flat, in a cool, ventilated space. Do not apply any direct heat source - radiator, hairdryer, direct sun - and do not hang it while it is still damp, as water-saturated leather can distort under its own weight. Note that in the event of significant moisture, oxidation from the metal hardware can mark the leather around rivets and snaps with an antique finish.
Yes - that is exactly what a chore jacket is built for. The 1.3 mm leather and the reinforcing rivets at the stress points give it the durability needed for heavy wear. You simply have to accept that this leather keeps the memory of that use: marks, darkening at contact points, shifts in tone. That is precisely what makes the model interesting, but it makes it less suited to someone who wants a jacket that stays identical over time.

This product is made of cowhide leather. Whether thick and heavy or thin and light, cowhide is one of the most resistant.
Its maintenance simply involves using a cleansing milk or a delicate cream.
You will also need, as with the vast majority of leathers, to waterproof your leather once every 6 months, or more depending on its use, using a special leather aerosol product.
