Two Pieces, Several Ways to Wear Them
The CANTON BLACK stands out with its modular construction: a mid-length parka with a fixed hood houses a removable inner puffer jacket, also equipped with its own hood. Wear them together for a more enveloping layer, or separate them depending on your outfit and the day’s conditions. This design transforms a single piece into several layering options without changing its style: the silhouette remains understated and entirely black.
The regular fit and hip-length cut give the parka an urban look that is easy to wear over a sweater or sweatshirt. The outer fabric combines 80% nylon with 20% elastane: the nylon creates a clean textile surface, while the elastane moves with you. The inner jacket is padded with polyester.
Details Designed for Layering
The parka features a two-way zipper concealed beneath a snap-button placket. The two-way zipper allows you to open the bottom when sitting or when you want greater ease of movement, while keeping the top closed. The two lower pockets are lined with fleece, a welcome detail for keeping your hands warm. At the cuffs, hook-and-loop tabs adjust the sleeve openings.
The inner puffer jacket is a fully-fledged piece in its own right, with two zipped pockets and a fixed hood. Worn on its own, it gives you a shorter, quilted jacket; combined with the parka, it adds an insulating layer beneath the outer shell. The rubber Schott NYC logo on the left sleeve discreetly completes the design.
Schott, a New York Story
In 1913, brothers Irving and Jack Schott opened a workshop in New York where they made rainwear, among other garments. The brand then developed functional pieces that became familiar staples in the history of American clothing, from flight jackets to padded parkas. The CANTON is part of this practical outerwear tradition, with a contemporary design based here on layering and modularity.
