Men's Royal Air Force WINSTON NAVY
3 298,00 kr
The Winston Navy takes up the codes of aviation apparel in navy blue canvas, with a strong graphic presence: on the back, a large aircraft illustration is accompanied by the Royal Air Force inscription. On the front, the chest patch and sleeve badges continue this aviation theme. The result is more distinctive than a plain jacket, while remaining easy to wear with jeans and understated pieces.
The removable genuine sheepskin collar frames the neck and contrasts with the canvas; worn without it, the jacket takes on a more understated look and comes closer to an everyday textile jacket.
The zip fastening is covered by a snap-button placket: once buttoned, it creates a cleaner central line and keeps the zip out of sight. Two vertical pockets placed on the chest and two flap patch pockets at the lower front provide storage without weighing down the silhouette. On the sleeve, a zipped pocket is complemented by narrow pen compartments, a characteristic detail of military-inspired jackets.
The cuffs and hem remain straight, without ribbing, preserving the look of a jacket rather than a bomber. The canvas gives the model a more structured visual appearance than a lightweight fabric, while the topstitching and pocket reinforcements highlight its construction.
Inside, a removable quilted Thinsulate vest allows you to adapt the jacket according to the temperature and the layers worn underneath. With the vest, the Winston takes on more volume and is suited to cooler days; without it, the canvas can be worn more simply in mid-season. The sheepskin collar can be removed independently: you can therefore keep the vest while lightening the neckline, or remove both elements for a more pared-back look.
This versatility, combined with the generous collar and navy blue canvas, makes the Winston a cold-season piece that does not depend on a single styling option. With a sweater, it accentuates its flight jacket look; over a fine knit, it lets the patches and back illustration speak for themselves.
The Royal Air Force was created on April 1, 1918, through the merger of the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service. It thereby became the first air force established as an independent service from the army and navy. On this jacket, the insignia, the aircraft illustrated on the back and the reference to the RAF motto place the Winston within this British aviation imagery, without reproducing the cut of any specific historical uniform.
