Women's Mauritius MWSuri BROWN
Product Description
A Pattern Created Through Construction
The Suri alternates lambskin leather strips and textile strips, changing their orientation from one panel to the next to form chevrons across the entire body of the jacket. The design is therefore not applied to the material: it results from the cutting and assembly, which explains the number of seams and the precision they require — a shift of just a few millimetres would disrupt the chevron alignment where the panels meet and would be immediately noticeable. The pattern is therefore part of the construction, not the surface.
Dark Brown Softens the Graphic Effect
In dark brown, the contrast between the leather and textile is less striking than in black: the chevrons remain visible without breaking up the silhouette into strips, and the piece gains warmth. This is the easiest version of the model to wear during the day, whereas the black version is more suited to evening wear. The shade pairs well with ecru, camel and khaki, colour families with which black would create a sharper contrast.
A Piece for Mild Weather and Evening Wear
The textile strips allow air and light to pass through: this is something to be aware of before buying, as it determines how the jacket can be worn. It is suitable for indoors, evenings or mild weather, over a dress, a plain top or flowing trousers. The round neckline, without a collar, leaves the neck exposed and enhances the garment’s dressed-up character, while the centred straight zip closes it without interrupting the pattern. The cut follows the bust and ends at the waist, leaving the silhouette free below and working equally well with a skirt or flowing trousers. The supple lambskin allows the jacket to drape properly from the very first outing.
The Name Mauritius
Adopted for the company’s fiftieth anniversary, the name Mauritius replaced Gipsy, the name under which the company founded by Jürgen Raberg in 1972 became known. Its core business has remained unchanged: leather clothing, from cropped jackets to coats. The company has entered its second generation, now in the hands of Katrin and Christian Raberg. Its collections are now distributed in more than fifty countries.
Caring for your leather
This product is made of lambskin. It is the most supple skin among the different types of leather. It is fine, soft and light, and is very easy to maintain!
The only maintenance necessary is waterproofing the material, this should be planned before the first wear of your product and regularly following the frequency with which you wear the product (if you wear it every day in rainy weather, you can repeat it up to once every one to two weeks).
You can also use a delicate neutral cream or color to nourish and revive your leather.

In all cases, remember to always test the application of a maintenance product on a non-visible surface of your product. Certain finishes or leather treatments may react differently from one product to another.
