An Entirely Worked Surface

The Floral does not simply place a few accent motifs: multicolored floral embroideries cover the entire body of the jacket, from the front to the sleeves, while metal studs punctuate the motifs. The density is such that the black leather ceases to be the garment's material and becomes the background against which the work stands out. It is a piece whose value lies in the number of hours of embroidery, not in the complexity of its cut, and this reversal of the usual balance is fully intentional.

The Biker Foundation That Holds It All Together

Underneath the ornamentation, the construction is strictly conventional: an asymmetrical zip offset to the side, notched lapels, and a cropped length ending at the waist. This choice is not a lack of imagination but the condition for the result. An invented shape combined with embroidery this dense would produce an unreadable garment; a familiar shape allows the eye to find its bearings immediately and focus solely on the threadwork. The contrast between a rugged silhouette and a floral design does the rest.

A Piece That Dictates the Outfit

There is no discreet way to wear a fully embroidered and studded jacket: it dictates the outfit, and everything else must fade into the background. Raw denim, black trousers, a plain T-shirt, simple shoes — nothing with a pattern or shine. Worn open, it displays the motifs on either side of the front; closed, it concentrates the effect on the torso and sleeves. Lightweight lambskin offsets part of the extra weight added by the studs and the density of the thread.

It grew under the name Gipsy before adopting Mauritius on its fiftieth anniversary, a change that brought previously distinct lines together under one signature. The company is now run by Katrin and Christian Raberg, the second generation of the founding family.
