Men's Schott P656H BROWN
Product Description
The Brown Perfecto, Another Take on a Classic
The P656H adopts the signature features of the Perfecto® — off-centre zipper, snap-button lapels, epaulettes and half-belt — in brown Horween horsehide. The asymmetric closure draws a pronounced diagonal across the chest; when open, it reveals the lapels, while when closed, it creates a more enveloping line. The brown gives this familiar silhouette greater depth: its shades vary with the light, and the leather develops its own patina over time as it is worn.
The three slanted zipped pockets and small coin pocket echo the functional vocabulary of biker jackets. The chain pulls and brass elements highlight this construction, while the branded snap buttons secure the lapels. The adjustable half-belt fastens with a concealed snap button: it allows you to adjust the bottom without adding a visible buckle to the front.
Supple Horween Horsehide from the First Wear
Schott combines horsehide here with an unusual softness for this material: the jacket can be worn straight away, without requiring a long breaking-in period. Its smooth surface and nuanced brown bring depth to the creases that naturally form with movement. Inside, the diamond-quilted polyester satin lining adds comfortable thickness and creates a golden contrast when the jacket is left open.
The removable genuine shearling collar noticeably changes the look. With it, the neckline gains volume and presence; without it, the Perfecto’s lapels remain clear and the silhouette appears more streamlined. At the back, action pleats follow the movements of the shoulders. The zipped cuffs, extended with a gusset, allow the sleeve openings to be widened for easier dressing.
Schott and the History of the Perfecto®
In 1913, brothers Irving and Jack Schott founded their company in New York. In 1928, Irving designed the Perfecto® for motorcyclists and named it after his favourite Cuban cigar. Its asymmetric closure and leather construction distinguished this model from ordinary jackets at the time. The Perfecto later entered American popular culture, notably when Marlon Brando wore it on screen in the 1950s. The P656H retains the key features of this silhouette while pairing them with supple horsehide and a removable collar.
Caring for your leather
This is a horsehide jacket.
Horsehide is a fairly rare hide. It is found, most of the time, on jacket models exclusively made in the United States such as the historic Schott N.Y.C.
Very thick and above all very resistant, the horse leather models are easy to maintain.
We will still advise you to waterproof them, like any leather jacket, either upon purchase and then at least once every year.
For the purchase of your products maintenance, you can go to our maintenance section.
In all cases, remember to always test the application of a maintenance product on a non-visible surface of your product. Certain finishes or leather treatments may react differently from one product to another.
