Quilted shoulders on a shade that absorbs the light

The horizontal quilting on the shoulders is the central feature of the Derry's design, and its placement is no accident: on leather this dark, a flat surface would reflect almost nothing. The relief created by the stitching forms shadows and edges that give the torso a visible structure, where the colour alone would not be enough. It slightly broadens the shoulder line, following a principle borrowed from racing jackets, without adding any bothersome bulk under the arms.

Green taken right to the edge of black

The shade is so dense that it reads as black indoors and only reveals its green undertone in natural light, on the exposed areas. This is a precise choice: to achieve the versatility of a black jacket without its starkness near the face, and without shifting into a pronounced khaki that would impose its own matching constraints. In practice, the jacket can be worn anywhere black would work, and only stands out in full daylight.

A short construction without unnecessary detail

Stand-up collar, centred straight zip, two zipped chest pockets: nothing else interrupts the surface. Integrated into the front panels, the pockets remain accessible with the jacket closed and stay secure while moving, which a flap pocket does not guarantee. The length stops at the waist and leaves the legs unobstructed. The soft, lightweight lamb leather can be worn from the very first outing and follows the movement of the arms without restricting the armholes.

Mauritius, fifty years of leather clothing

The company was founded in 1972 under the name Raberg Ledermoden by Jürgen Raberg, with a unique speciality — leather clothing. It grew under the name Gipsy before adopting Mauritius on its fiftieth anniversary, a change that brought previously distinct lines together under one signature. The company is now managed by Katrin and Christian Raberg, the second generation of the founding family. Its collections are distributed in more than fifty countries, and the company produces for both its own brands and third-party labels.
