Men's Jacket Schott P617H BLACK
Product Description
An heirloom in the making, the P617H Black is the kind of leather jacket that doesn’t just age—it evolves.
Schott’s P617H Black is a modern interpretation of the Perfecto, the legendary motorcycle jacket that has defined rebellious elegance since 1928. The result is a material that is as resilient as it is refined, with a teacore finish that deepens in colour and develops a lustrous patina over time. At 1.1 to 1.3 mm thick, the leather strikes a perfect balance between structure and suppleness, moulding to the wearer’s movements without sacrificing durability.
A design that honours tradition while embracing modernity.
The P617H Black features Schott’s signature regular fit, offering a comfortable silhouette that flatters without constricting. The asymmetrical zip closure, a hallmark of the Perfecto lineage, is paired with hidden snap buttons under the collar and lapels for added security. Expansion pleats at the sleeves ensure unrestricted movement, while three external zippered pockets and one internal pocket provide practical storage. The absence of a coin pocket lends the jacket a sleek, uncluttered profile. Inside, a deadstock Glen Plaid wool lining adds a touch of vintage charm, its classic pattern a nod to the jacket’s timeless appeal.
Versatility meets enduring style.
Designed to transition seamlessly across seasons, the P617H Black is as at home over a lightweight sweater in autumn as it is layered over a T-shirt in spring. Its adaptability extends to styling, too—pair it with raw denim and boots for a rugged, rock-inspired look, or dress it up with tailored trousers and Chelsea boots for a more polished edge. The Cordovan leather’s natural resilience makes it suitable for urban commutes and weekend adventures alike, while its ability to develop a unique patina ensures that no two jackets will ever look the same.
Schott NYC is the name behind the Perfecto, the world’s first motorcycle jacket, introduced in 1928. Founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott, the brand has remained a benchmark for American quality manufacturing, blending utilitarian design with timeless style. Based in New York, Schott has dressed icons from Marlon Brando to The Ramones, cementing its place in both fashion and counterculture history. The brand’s commitment to quality is unwavering, with many of its jackets still made in the USA using traditional techniques and premium materials.
Frequently Asked Questions
The teacore finish on the Cordovan leather will develop a rich patina with use, deepening in colour and gaining character. The more you wear it, the more distinctive and personalised it becomes.
The wool lining with a Glen Plaid pattern provides moderate warmth, making it suitable for autumn and spring. For colder winters, layering with a thick jumper or scarf is recommended.
The expansion pleats on the sleeves allow for greater freedom of movement, ensuring comfort without restricting your arms, even when zipped up fully.
The design omits a coin pocket to maintain a sleek, streamlined silhouette, prioritising a clean aesthetic while still offering three secure zippered exterior pockets.
Avoid exposing it to excessive moisture or direct sunlight. Use a leather conditioner specifically designed for Cordovan leather to keep it supple. Store it in a cool, dry place, ideally on a padded hanger.
Conmar zips are known for their durability and smooth operation, reflecting the jacket’s attention to detail and quality manufacturing. They are a subtle nod to Schott’s commitment to using reliable hardware.
Caring for your leather
This is a horsehide jacket.
Horsehide is a fairly rare hide. It is found, most of the time, on jacket models exclusively made in the United States such as the historic Schott N.Y.C.
Very thick and above all very resistant, the horse leather models are easy to maintain.
We will still advise you to waterproof them, like any leather jacket, either upon purchase and then at least once every year.
For the purchase of your products maintenance, you can go to our maintenance section.
In all cases, remember to always test the application of a maintenance product on a non-visible surface of your product. Certain finishes or leather treatments may react differently from one product to another.
