The W14 never strays from the original design: an offset side zip, notched lapels secured with press studs, a diagonal chest zip following the line of the front, and zipped lower pockets. No ornamentation, no contrast, no variation in materials. Smooth leather that lets the design show

The leather has a smooth, matte finish: light glides over the panels and reveals the edges of the cuts rather than a texture. On a piece whose entire appeal lies in its lines, this is the right finish. Supple and lightweight lambskin removes the stiffness associated with the thick hides usually used for this construction — the jacket falls correctly from the very first outing and the lapels naturally fold back instead of staying creased. The length stops at the waist, leaving the silhouette free below.

The story began in 1972, when Jürgen Raberg founded Raberg Ledermoden to produce leather clothing. The brand developed under the name Gipsy for decades before becoming Mauritius on its fiftieth anniversary. The second generation, Katrin and Christian Raberg, has continued the company’s international development ever since, with a presence in more than fifty countries. The name change did not affect its core business: the company produces leather clothing exclusively.
