Product Description

A Shearling Collar That Covers the Nape

The Ceylor follows the principle of flight jackets with a separate collar: black shearling material wraps around the nape and upper neck, where a leather collar would let air through. When raised, it forms a continuous barrier around the face; when folded down, it creates a soft volume over the shoulders that balances the short silhouette. This is what sets this model apart from flight jackets with shirt collars, and what makes it suitable when the temperature really drops.

A Pronounced Grain, in Contrast to Smooth Leather

The leather here features a visible grain that adds texture to the surface and catches the light instead of letting it glide across. The benefit is both visual and practical: grained leather absorbs the everyday micro-scratches that disappear into the hide's natural pattern, whereas a smooth surface retains them. The jacket looks more robust than a smooth model with the same construction, without adding any extra weight to the shoulders.

Adjustment Tabs That Close Off the Bottom

Two adjustable tabs allow you to adjust the jacket's width at the hips. The adjustment is not merely a style detail: when tightened, it prevents air from rising through the bottom, which makes all the difference in windy weather; when loosened, it lets the garment fall straight. Combined with the shearling collar and the two press-stud flap pockets, they make this Ceylor one of the most protective pieces in the collection. The regular fit leaves room for a thick knit, which is consistent with a jacket whose every element is designed to retain warmth rather than streamline the silhouette.

Mauritius, a Leather House

The company was founded in 1972 under the name Raberg Ledermoden, created by Jürgen Raberg around leather clothing. After decades under the name Gipsy, it adopted the name Mauritius for its fiftieth anniversary, bringing its collections together under a single signature. It is run by Katrin and Christian Raberg and is present in more than fifty countries. Its designs remain deliberately understated, built around the cut rather than visible detailing.

Caring for your leather

This product is made of lambskin. It is the most supple skin among the different types of leather. It is fine, soft and light, and is very easy to maintain!

The only maintenance necessary is waterproofing the material, this should be planned before the first wear of your product and regularly following the frequency with which you wear the product (if you wear it every day in rainy weather, you can repeat it up to once every one to two weeks).

You can also use a delicate neutral cream or color to nourish and revive your leather.

In all cases, remember to always test the application of a maintenance product on a non-visible surface of your product. Certain finishes or leather treatments may react differently from one product to another.
