The Schott NYC Perfecto P617H jacket in detail
Made in the United States, the Perfecto P617H is crafted from Shinki-Hikaku horsehide, renowned for its outstanding quality and known as “Cordovan”. This leather, tanned for over 10 months in Japan in one of the world’s most respected and sought-after tanneries, features a teacore finish that develops a patina over time, revealing a deep colour and a unique lustre. The jacket has a regular fit and a clean, asymmetric zip fastening with no coin pocket. With a thickness between 1.1 and 1.3 mm, the leather is notably supple thanks to its extended treatment.
The snap buttons are concealed beneath the collar and lapels, and ease pleats are added at the sleeves. Conmar zips highlight the attention to detail in this piece, steeped in American craftsmanship. It features one inside pocket and three zipped outer pockets. The wool lining showcases a sumptuous Glen Plaid check, made from so-called “deadstock” fabrics – unsold textiles that have been stored in reserves or warehouses for some time.

Caring for your leather

Horsehide is a fairly rare hide. It is found, most of the time, on jacket models exclusively made in the United States such as the historic Schott N.Y.C.
Very thick and above all very resistant, the horse leather models are easy to maintain.
We will still advise you to waterproof them, like any leather jacket, either upon purchase and then at least once every year.
