Brown softens a sharp construction

The construction is entirely biker-inspired — an offset side zip, notched lapels — but the brown changes its temperature. Black leather makes this silhouette more striking; medium brown warms it up and makes it compatible with a wardrobe of natural tones, where black always creates a break. This is a color choice, not a change in shape: nothing has been softened in the pattern, only the shade does the work.

A piece made to be worn often

The length stops at the waist and leaves the silhouette free below; the lambskin remains supple and lightweight all day long. The jacket can be worn open, with the lapels folded back, over a light-colored top that stands out against the brown, or closed for a more compact line. The suppleness of the lambskin also makes it possible to wear it open without it flaring out and creating a hollow at the armholes, something rigid leather would not forgive. Closed all the way up, on the other hand, it tightens the line of the bust and creates a more compact silhouette.

The Mauritius signature

Behind the Mauritius name is a company founded in 1972 by Jürgen Raberg, specializing in leather clothing from the outset. Known as Gipsy for most of its history, it changed its signature for its fiftieth anniversary. It is now run by Katrin and Christian Raberg and distributes its collections in more than fifty countries. Its catalog covers the entire leather wardrobe, from the short biker jacket to the long coat.
