A front layout inspired by workwear

Jorric abandons the biker approach in favor of a utility jacket design: two chest pockets covered by a press-stud flap, two lower pockets, and a balanced distribution between the upper and lower front. The flaps open with a single gesture, even with gloved hands, whereas a zip requires a precise grip. This four-pocket layout changes the way the garment is perceived: it fills the front, adds rhythm to the leather, and moves the piece away from the biker category to which most short jackets belong.

A straight hem, without ribbing or a fastening tab

Nothing tightens the jacket at the hips: it falls straight, continuing the line of the torso. The effect on the silhouette is clear — the line remains understated, without the compact volume created by ribbing or a fastening tab, and the garment comes closer to a jacket. This makes it possible to wear it open over a shirt without it appearing unfinished, whereas a jacket with an elasticated hem needs to be closed to hold its shape.

A family business specializing in leather

Founded in 1972 under the name Raberg Ledermoden, the company has remained in the hands of the founding family: Katrin and Christian Raberg, the children of Jürgen Raberg, now run the business. Its renaming as Mauritius, on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, replaced the name Gipsy under which it had become known. Leather remains its sole field, from short jackets to long pieces. The group also includes deercraft, a line dedicated to larger sizes in comfortable cuts.
