An Aviation Cap with Refined Details

In its stone beige colorway, this Top Gun cap draws on several naval aviation codes without relying solely on its logo. The washed cotton has a soft feel and an already relaxed appearance, while the U.S. Navy aviator wings embroidery takes center stage on the front. The result is easy to pair with other pieces, but the details clearly convey the world that inspired it.

Embroidery Extending to the Sides

The visor reveals a vintage-inspired color band set between its layers: a subtle accent that is mainly noticeable up close. On the sides, a canvas band features the inscriptions « Kick Ass Dept » and « U.S. Navy ». At the back, « Who Dares Wins » embroidered in the arch extends the cap’s military vocabulary. These elements distribute the motifs around the head rather than concentrating the entire identity on the front.

A Metal Adjustment at the Back

The adjustable strap fastens with a metal piece engraved with the Top Gun name and wings. It allows the cap’s fit to be adjusted and adds a more refined finish than an ordinary plastic closure. The stone beige color naturally pairs with jeans, a canvas jacket or a khaki and navy jacket; the embroidery then adds visual depth.

Top Gun, an Identity Linked to Aviation

The Top Gun brand was founded in 1996 in Queens, New York, around a wardrobe inspired by military and aviation clothing. Its name refers to the U.S. Navy’s combat pilot school, established in 1969 and known as the Fighter Weapons School. The brand transposes this heritage into civilian clothing and accessories, drawing on familiar visual cues from naval aviation.
