A shape that leaves nothing to hide behind
A straight leather skirt is one of the most demanding pieces in a wardrobe: no draping to conceal a cutting flaw, no pattern to divert the eye, no gathering to make up for poor hang. The Swante embraces this bareness — a straight line, a high waist positioned at the narrowest point of the torso, and a knee-length hem. Everything therefore depends on the leather's structure and the precision of the construction, which is exactly what this type of piece is meant to demonstrate.
A central seam that keeps the line
A vertical seam runs down the centre of the front and divides the panel in two. Its role is not decorative: it structures the drape, prevents the leather from spreading outwards over the course of the day, and maintains the straight line both when sitting and walking. Visually, it creates a vertical line that elongates the silhouette, rather than cutting across it as a horizontal panel would. It is the skirt's only design element, and it is entirely functional.
A knee length that is easy to wear
A knee-length hem is the easiest length to combine: it works with knee-high boots as well as pumps or low-top trainers, without imposing a particular style. The high waist is worn with a tucked-in top to make the most of the line it creates. Soft and lightweight lambskin follows movement without creasing at the hips, which matters for a piece worn sitting down for part of the day — a rigid hide would crease and remain misshapen. The smooth, grainless surface reinforces the graphic effect of the straight shape.
A house founded in 1972
Jürgen Raberg founded Raberg Ledermoden in 1972 and dedicated the company to leather clothing, a choice it has never moved away from. Renamed Gipsy, then Mauritius on its fiftieth anniversary, the house has passed through several generations of leather wardrobes without changing its trade. Katrin and Christian Raberg took over its management after their father. The house works for its own brands as well as for third-party labels, which explains the breadth of its catalogue.
Zorg voor uw leer
This product is made of lambskin. It is the most supple skin among the different types of leather. It is fine, soft and light, and is very easy to maintain!
The only maintenance necessary is waterproofing the material, this should be planned before the first wear of your product and regularly following the frequency with which you wear the product (if you wear it every day in rainy weather, you can repeat it up to once every one to two weeks).
