A Navy Blue MA-1 Accented with Aviation Details

This bomber jacket takes on the recognizable silhouette of the MA-1: a short cut, a central fastening and ribbed trims at the collar, cuffs and waist. The navy blue gives the design a more understated look than olive versions, while embroidered Top Gun flight patches enliven the front and sleeves. Together, they create a garment inspired by aviation attire without reproducing a military uniform.

The lightweight nylon complements this flexible construction and is easy to wear over a T-shirt or fine knitwear. The straight zip fastens with a propeller-shaped puller, an emblematic detail of the brand. Vintage-look leather finishes add a contrast of textures to the nylon and echo the history of flight jackets.

Details That Tell the Story of Flight Attire

Inside, the lining features a nomination certificate, a nod to the Top Gun universe. The interior pockets provide discreet storage, while the ribbed trims maintain the bomber silhouette at the cuffs and bottom of the jacket. The regular fit leaves room for layering a lightweight garment; worn open, the design reveals more of its patches and interior details.

The MA-1 belongs to the family of nylon flight jackets developed for American aviation from the 1950s onward. Here, this historical reference can be seen in the silhouette and finishes, then blends with the embroidered patches characteristic of the Top Gun universe. The navy blue makes it easy to pair with raw denim or chinos, for a flight jacket-inspired outfit with less contrast than a khaki bomber.

Top Gun, a Brand Born from Aviation Heritage

Top Gun was founded in 1996 in Queens, New York, around clothing inspired by military aviation and the popularity of the U.S. Navy's fighter weapons school. This clothing heritage echoes an institution created in 1969 and made famous among the general public by the film Top Gun, released in 1986.
